Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

* What led up to the situation?

The new hp-bioscfg kernel module, I think.

https://ftp.ext.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/HP_BCU.html

https://www.phoronix.com/news/HP-BIOSCFG-For-Linux-6.6

And since my computer is an older laptop, the BIOS is also outdated and can't
be updated. The two might be causing the problem.

For a long time, I used a third-party kernel (Liquorix), but with its latest
version, the system would freeze whenever I played a YouTube video at 720p or
higher resolution. I reported the bug to them:
https://github.com/damentz/liquorix-package/issues/217

Returning to the Debian stable kernel and the backports kernel, the system
didn’t freeze… but it produced these messages (dmesg / journactl) with hp-
bioscfg modul, and WMI:

* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?

I disabled the hp-bioscfg module

echo "blacklist hp_bioscfg" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/hp_bioscfg-blacklist.conf

sudo update-grub

sudo systemctl reboot

* What was the outcome of this action?

The error has been resolved

márc 15 10:36:01 mst kernel: ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.WMID.WQBE due to
previous error (AE_AML_UNINITIALIZED_ELEMENT) >
márc 15 10:36:01 mst kernel: Error expected type 2 for elem 13, but got type 1
instead
márc 15 10:36:01 mst kernel: hp_bioscfg: Returned error 0x3, "Invalid command
value/Feature not supported"

* What outcome did you expect instead?

YouTube does not cause the system to freeze, whether the hp-bioscfg kernel
module is enabled or disabled.

When I enable the module,

sudo mv /etc/modprobe.d/hp_bioscfg-blacklist.conf /etc/modprobe.d/hp_bioscfg-blacklist.conf.ORIG

sudo systemctl reboot

an "ACPI Error" message appears.

It would be good to fix this issue.
It occurred to me that maybe I don't even need the module... but that's just a
thought, and I haven't been able to confirm it.
