i had some discussion with Frans Pop today and we agreed that it might make more sense to have a new sarge d-i with R3 rather than R2. That's also due to the fact that he can't tell me how long it might take to build new sarge based d-i packages. (spoke about 2-8 weeks). So my plan would be, as soon as we get the remaining issue for R2 fixed (which i expect within the next 2 weeks), we then go without new kernels in R2 and then have R3 a few weeks later (4-8 weeks), then with new kernels and new d-i.
