Package: usplash Version: 0.3e Severity: normal After installing usplash, when I reboot each lsb output line is followed by an error message:
chdir: no such file or directory I do not get any kind of graphical display, just lots of copies of that error message. I get the same error several times if I run /etc/init.d/usplash stop sh -x shows it's coming from the usplash command; if I strace usplash it is trying to chdir to /dev/.initramfs, which does not exist here. I'm using udev and initramfs-tools. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17-2-686 Locale: LANG=, LC_CTYPE= (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages usplash depends on: ii initramfs-tools 0.75 tools for generating an initramfs ii libc6 2.3.6.ds1-2 GNU C Library: Shared libraries usplash recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- see shy jo
