Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686-smp
Version: 2.6.8-2
Severity: wishlist

Please consider to release additional kernel-image packages with CONFIG_HIGHMEM64G=y and PAE enabled by default.

The current default kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686-smp will only recognise 3GB out of 4GB memory on a Dell PowerEdge 1800 Dual Xeon Server. I fixed this problem by installed a kernal-image package which was rebuild with the CONFIG_HIGHMEM64G=y option.

Hello,

we have linux-image-2.6.18-1-686-bigmem in the archive now, thus closing

Best regards
