That was the first thing I did after I found out that it's a little bit
better (the sound was a little bit less crippled) without any cpu
frequency scaling. But unfortunately it does not help, at least the
experience is the same.

And even with the lowest frequency (600 Mhz), letters should not appear
delayed in vim on the console if you type a bug report, no matter how
stupid the cpufreqd is.

No matter what scaling I use under 2.6.18, I have no issues at all with
that kernel.
