Sorry for the delay, I don't reboot my laptop very often! I can confirm
that this bug still exists in linux-image-2.6.22-2-686 version 2.6.22-4,
and in linux-image-2.6.23-rc5-686 version
2.6.23~rc5-1~experimental.1~snapshot.9462.
