It seems related to ICH8 PATA controller of SantaRosa chipset. After a BIOS upgrade it *seems* to work, but it's strange, because the device is /dev/hda and not /dev/scd0. I google it and I think that this is a problem related to the pata-postpone-patch of ata_piix Don't you think a good idea to drop that patch? Probably there are a lot of user with that chipset and without a BIOS upgrade available. Using Ubuntu I don't have any problem related to ata_piix. Thank you for your time.
