Thanks Dann, I had already tried with linux-source-2.6.24 but I couldn't find a matching rt patch either so I thought it was better to go back to basics.
I found I can apply patch-2.6.24-rt1 to inux-2.6.24_2.6.24.orig, and I could obviously also apply the debian patches to it. But I can't apply both set of patches (rt and debian) without having to manually resolve not few conflicts. I must be missing something.
