Package: linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 Version: 2.6.26-15 Severity: normal
Using the linux kernel from xen.org it is possible to save/migrate a 32-bit domU on a 64-bit dom0. With the lenny kernel it is not possible! The error message in /var/log/xen/xend.log: [2009-04-30 09:58:15 5118] INFO (XendCheckpoint:373) All memory is saved [2009-04-30 09:58:15 5118] ERROR (XendCheckpoint:144) Save failed on domain dns3 (1). Changing only the dom0 kernel to the kernel from xen.org live migration is possible! Another workaround is to use a 64-bit hypervisor on a 32-bit dom0 (http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2008-12/msg00404.html). -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 depends on: ii initramfs-tools 0.92o tools for generating an initramfs ii linux-modules-2.6.26-2-xen-am 2.6.26-15 Linux 2.6.26 modules on AMD64 linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 recommends no packages.
