And I thought, that perhaps some of you experts might have an idea. It's definitely not hardware-problems,.. using the official linux-image packages (either 2.6.32 or .33) and everything works fine. I've started yesterday to compare my kernel config side by side with debian's. The biggest difference so far, was that I did not activate NUMA... did that... no I come until "Decompressing... Parsing ELF...) (or so)... and than it hangs... without rebooting. Ah,... and I've just seen that I obviously use ld.gold for linking... Could it be that? I guessed binutils-gold would use the alternative mechanism (and auto would be the "normal" ld)... but apparently not. Cheers, Chris.
