What happens if you unload snd_hda_intel and reload it with beep_mode=0? # modprobe -r snd_hda_intel # modprobe snd_hda_intel beep_mode=0 If that works, maybe 2 ("mutable using the software mixer") would be a good default for SND_HDA_INPUT_BEEP_MODE.
