I originally opened this bug report against xserver-xorg-video-nouveau, but I am reassigning it to the kernel because my research indicates that this is a kernel bug. I have a partial fix which allows a display, but fonts are not rendered correctly. Graphic images seem to display OK though. So far all my changes have been to generic KMS code and are not nouveau-specific.
I'd rather wait to publish my fixes until I have everything working correctly. The trouble is I haven't had much time to work on it lately. -- .''`.
