Package: linux-2.6 Version: 3.1.1-1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system
Dear Maintainer, First of all, thanks for looking into this.. I've installed debian-stable with 2.6.32 kernel. After that, I made the upgrade to wheezy. From that moment on, the system no longer boots: http://tinypic.com/r/2u9222q/5 "BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 23s! [swapper:1]" This messages keeps repeating. When I boot the 2.6.32 kernel, the system works. Hardware is an old Asus A1300 laptop with SiS 630 chipset and Pentium III 1Ghz CPU. Disabling APIC (apic=off) had no effect, having cpufreqd installed or not also makes no difference. I had found these suggestions on the net for similar but different problems. -- Package-specific info: ** Kernel log: boot messages should be attached ** Model information not available ** Network interface configuration: # This file describes the network interfaces available on your system # and how to activate them.
