Please keep in mind that these appear as emails in a crowded inbox, so
the subject line can be a good place to put valuable context.

Interesting.

Basic questions:

 - You said that problems started after an update. Was it
3.2.20->3.2.21 like Russ's case or a different upgrade?

You can find the upgrade history of the kernel in /var/log/dpkg.log
if that helps jog your memory, or you can find historical kernels
at http://snapshot.debian.org/ to test if that helps.

 - Russ reported that adding pcie_aspm=force to the kernel command
line works around it. Does that work around it for you, too?

 - Please attach full "dmesg" output from booting and reproducing the
   problem, if you can.

 - "acpidump" output as an attachment would be helpful as well.

 - Am I correct in guessing that 3.5 from experimental has the
   same problem?

Thanks again for your persistence. If 3.5 reproduces it, we should
take this upstream.

Hope that helps,
Jonathan
