Oh, that's right, I never replied, did I?  It would only have been
"yes, that looks fine".

Checking the datestamp it all makes sense: that was the day we had new
carpets put down and they accidentally cut our phone cable.  I got it
bodged back together, but for a while there I was on low bandwidth and
following the traditional Unix no-news-is-good-news paradigm.
