I have recently switched from RH to Debian on my Inspiron 5100. I need the kernel source so I can build my network drivers. I downloaded the kernel source and header .deb files for the kernel that came with debian from ftp.debian.org at a friends house and put them on CD. I put the kernel source in /usr/src/ and created a soft link to /usr/src/linux/. Next I unpacked the header source and copied from the asm folders to /usr/include/. I have only made one kernel in the past and that was on a FreeBSD client with the source already installed, but I thought this was correct. I still can't seem to build the drivers for my network card and was hoping someone could tell me if I missed something.
