Some update in my case with Linksys WPC11 v4. I went on Andrea Merello's development site: http://rtl8180-sa2400.sourceforge.net/ I downloaded the latest source from CVS http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/rtl8180-sa2400/rtl8180-sa2400-dev/ and it compiled fine. I followed the excellent README and INSTALL instructions Then: mv *.ko /lib/modules/2.6.12/kernel/drivers/net/wireless depmod -a I did not have to put alias information in /etc/modprobe.d When I replug'ed the card hotplug got it recognized and loaded the driver. (Don't know how this works...) I'll be happy to reply with more details if anyone needs any. Thanks Andrea!
