fglrx 8.42.3-2 brakes XVideo

Hi,

yesterday I updated the fglrx-driver from 8.42.3-1 to 8.42.3-2. After 
that although xvinfo tells me I have XVideo extension, I find
glesx exec program failed
in my Xorg log and Mplayer fails with Error Code: 2 when running with 
-vo xv.
Can't downgrade, because the old package is gone...any ideas?
HW: T60 with X1400
SW: Lenny with custom 2.6.22
