Previously I had a Thinkpad and /etc/X11/xorg.conf with a synaptics configuration. I could disable the touchpad with this command:
/usr/bin/synclient "TouchpadOff=`/usr/bin/synclient -l | sed -ne 's/\(TouchpadOff *= *\)\([01]\)/\2/p' | sed -e 'y/01/10/'`" Now I have a Dell E6410 with Squeeze (and no xorg.conf) and I get $ Couldn't find synaptics properties. No synaptics driver loaded? when I try the same. How do I load synaptics without /etc/X11/xorg.conf?
