Hi' Try this in /ets/default/grub
"GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT= quiet splash acpi_osi=Linux i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 i915.i915_enable_fbc=1 ". Probably your proc would also take benefit from "i915.lvds_downclock=1" then: "sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg" When searching with key-word "i915.i915_enable_rc6=1" you'll find a lot of stuff, for example: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=intel_i915_power&num=1 Regards, -- ralf kaiser <rsvcakai...@gmail.com> Le jeudi 09 août 2012 à 23:19 -0500, Adrian Martinez a écrit : > Hi, > > I upgrade from kernel 2.6 to 3.2 in order to get a full resolution in > my laptop (vostro131), after this it's overheating with no reason, > there is nothing running > the gpu and cpu are in 0% usage when check them with command "top" and > does not overheat on Windows, so this is not a hardware issue. > > Graphics card: intel hd 3000 > > I already try this: > http://www.webupd8.org/2011/06/linux-kernel-power-issue-fix.html > but does not work. > > any other idea? > > thank you. > -- > Adrian Martinez Molina > Network Management, Data Analysis and Free Software > http://www.neotropic.co | Follow Neotropic on Twitter > Open Source Network Inventory for the masses! > http://kuwaiba.sourceforge.net | Follow Kuwaiba on Twitter -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-laptop-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
