Oh, and by the way: get the letter quoted at http://ballsome.org/index.php/news/100 on corporate letterhead, and Debian and most of its users are probably (IMHO, IANAL, TINLA) golden WRT both MP3 encoding and decoding, anywhere that "reliance to one's detriment" and "substantial non-infringing use" have any meaning. Are we all so blinded by anti-patent ideology that we don't bother to do trivial homework like writing to the patent holder for clarification?
