ISSUE #2. February 11 20118,677 Readers this Month FEBRUARY IS FOR LOVERS Your Retirement by Brandee Cote Whether you are looking forward to showering your loved one with gifts and affection, or just altogether boycotting the commercialism of it, it's clear that Valentine's Day is an important part of our history. The following day marked the beginning of a fertility festival called "Feast of Lupercalia." During this festival, it was custom for men to draw the name of the girl they were to be paired with. This pairing often led to marriage. Eventually viewed as an unchristian way to go about choosing a mate, some believe... Read More... If the emphasis is on the celebration of love, then we will not fall into the trap of how society has defined the day. Whatever the case, I encourage you to celebrate on your own terms. We have just the thing in this week's issue. From the little known origin of Valentine's Day to great movies and fun recipes, there's sure to be an article that resonates with you.
