Hello, I just want to announce that I will be completely offline from 1. to 15. February (photo trip to Iceland - no connection at all).
I would be very happy if somebody would be so kind to have a look to my preliminary GnuMed packages which caused some trouble in connction to PostgreSQL. You might have a look at one of my postings to gnumed-devel http://mail.gnu.org/archive/html/gnumed-devel/2003-01/msg00215.html where you also can find a link to the packages and some discussion in the following postings of the thread. Kind regards and have a nice time Andreas. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Thu, 30 Jan 2003 13:40:35 +0100 From: Karsten Hilbert <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: gnumed-developers list <[email protected]> Subject: Re: bootstrap* > > What I don't know is how to hide passwords in the command line > > *options*, i.e. someone looping "ps -axfwwww" on the machine > > in question thusly sniffing > > > > bootstrap* --pw-gm-dbowner=<a password> > I do not know any way to prevent this and this is the problem > with the shell method. OK, I'll go investigate the debconf interface but it has lower priority than other things as the current code is perfectly usable (apart from bugs) except that it does not fully conform to some Debian whim or other. Meanwhile, patches welcome.
