Hi Michael, If I understood correctly, the issue is that Upstream has documentation version 3.6.0 on their website, but source tarball version 3.6.0 contains the documentation 3.5.1. Instead of repacking a corrected tarball for Debian, I recommend to suggest Upstream to publish a tarball version 3.6.0.1 (or whichever), with the updated documentation.
