we are simply assuming there are a lot of newcomers who are lurking at this list and wondering how to help. I'm not really sure whether this assumption is true because I found some cases at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?maint=debian-med-packaging%40lists.alioth.debian.org which are *really* easy to do and which would help taking some workload from the back of people who might address some harder to fix things. For instance I just squashed #640103 by simply writing a mail to 640103-d...@bugs.debian.org that the new version is just available (Uploader might have forgotten to close the bug. I found some similarly easy bugs to fix. For those who would like to help: You are simply wasting some karisma points when missing those very easy chances to squash a bug.
