Dear FTP team and Debian Med team, Because data it not copyrightable, I would like to keep on using and distributing the protein sequence files from the UniProt consortium that I found in the emboss and bioperl packages, disreagarding their license, CC Attribution-NoDerivs. These files are part of the packages regression test suites. The UniProt consortium is non-profit and funded by public money. http://www.uniprot.org/help/about They acknowledge that not all they distribute is copyrightable: http://www.uniprot.org/help/license In my understanding, a single record like the one below is not copyrightable. Please let me know your opinon on that matter.
