If you open them in fontforge, their true names are DroidSerif-Bold and DroidSerif-Italic. Those are gone from Debian, but according to Wikipedia they're subsumed into NotoSerif. Ie, package fonts-noto-hinted files /usr/share/fonts/truetype/noto/NotoSerif-{Bold,Italic}.ttf -- An imaginary friend squared is a real enemy.
