Have you tried installing the kernel headers for version 6.9.7? This is
not an error message, it's just a state message, a state where there are
no kernel headers installed.

Since on Debian testing and on unstable the dkms package does not
recommend installing linux-headers-generic, nor linux-headers-686-pae,
nor linux-headers-amd64, nor linux-headers, that's probably what
prompted your issue.

If you install the correct kernel headers, everything should be fine.
