Yeah, I noticed you tried various solutions, including setting the
testsuite in d/control that would have worked just fine for a typical
Python package.
Open-vmdk has a mix of C and Python code, a build system designed for
the former but a testsuite typical for the latter. Getting things to
work the proper way with that combo can be a bit too complicated, so
I figured I'd lend a helping hand. The learning curve to Debian
packaging is steep enough already.
