Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "libvisual":

 * Package name     : libvisual
   Version          : 0.4.2-5
   Upstream contact : https://github.com/Libvisual/libvisual/issues
 * URL              : http://libvisual.org
 * License          : LGPL-2+, GPL-2+, LGPL-2.1+
 * Vcs              : https://salsa.debian.org/debian/libvisual
   Section          : devel

The source builds the following binary packages:

  libvisual-0.4-dev - audio visualization framework (development files)
  libvisual-0.4-0   - audio visualization framework
  lv-tool-0.4       - tool from Libvisual to visualize a music from audio players

To access further information about this package, please visit the following URL:

  https://mentors.debian.net/package/libvisual/

Alternatively, you can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/libv/libvisual/libvisual_0.4.2-5.dsc

The packaging changes are also available in the Salsa merge request:

  https://salsa.debian.org/debian/libvisual/-/merge_requests/3

Changes since the last upload:

 libvisual (0.4.2-5) unstable; urgency=medium
 .
   * Adopt package. (Closes: #921622)
   * Set myself as Maintainer. Thanks to the Debian QA Group.
   * debian/control:
     - Minor reordering with wrap-and-sort.
   * debian/copyright:
     - Drop obsolete Free Software Foundation postal address from the LGPL-2+
       license text.
   * Minor packaging cleanups.
   * Apply German translation as quilt patch. (Closes: #1055631)
   * Add optional build profile pkg.libvisual.nosdl to break the historic
     libvisual / libsdl1.2 bootstrap-dependency cycle. (Closes: #1077534)
     - The cycle no longer appears in the current archive, but retaining a
       profile prevents regressions and simplifies constrained bootstraps.
     - lv-tool is the only component requiring SDL, therefore the profile
       disables it cleanly (--disable-lv-tool --disable-examples).

I built the package in a clean unstable chroot using sbuild and verified it
with lintian. I also verified the optional build profile:

  sbuild -c unstable-amd64-sbuild -d unstable --no-clean-source --no-run-lintian   sbuild -c unstable-amd64-sbuild -d unstable --profiles=pkg.libvisual.nosdl --no-clean-source --no-run-lintian
  lintian libvisual_0.4.2-5_source.changes
  lintian libvisual_0.4.2-5_amd64.changes

The previous RFS, #1121907, was for libvisual/0.4.2-4 and is now archived
("Bug is archived. No further changes may be made."). I am opening this new
RFS for libvisual/0.4.2-5 after reworking the package as requested in the
previous review thread.

Regards,
Federico

Hello,

A few notes for next iteration:
 - Please upgrade the watch file to version 5.
 - Please upgrade Standards-Version to 4.7.4, dropping Priority: optional and
Rules-Requires-Root: no.
 - Please add a DEP-3 header to your quilt patch.
 - Please fix the trailing whitespace on line 22 of debian/rules.
 - Please consider upgrading to debhelper-compat 14.

The tests being marked as superficial seems okay, but Lintian doesn't like it.
Perhaps plan on doing something about that.

Otherwise, enjoy:

$ dput ftp-master ../libvisual_0.4.2-5_source.changes
