Hello. Earlier today I talked with a guy on irc about debian packages. He told me that a .DEB-file isn't just a renamed .TAR.GZ-file but also been thru 'ar'.
To be more specific, is the files first tar:ed, gzip:ed and then ar:ed?
I really can't find any reason why 'ar' should be used, since tar and
gzip should do be able to archive a package enough?
