Yes it really is release critical that everything in debian be buildable. Not only do policy and release quality require it, but it's essential that we be able to rebuild packages if a security issue or something comes up. There's nothing worse than the kind of security advisory that has to recommend users remove a peice of software since we cannot fix it. -- see shy jo
