Looks like this in the upstream makefile: all allbin alldoc tags clean: @for I in ${subdirs}; do (cd $$I; ${MAKE} $@ || exit 1); done Should be replaced with this: all allbin alldoc tags clean: @for I in ${subdirs}; do (cd $$I; ${MAKE} $@) || exit 1; done Same for the other targets in the Makefile.in that have a similar construct.
