Here are some remarks: - debian/copyright states GPLv2 or later while source code says GPLv2 only. - cleanup debian/watch with the only revelant entry - since you are distributing a binary distribution of evilvte, be sure that the description matches the real options that are compiled - since the package has never been in Debian, don't keep the full changelog. Just keep the more recent one, with only one entry and closing the ITP.
