My motivation for maintaining this package is: I have been maintaining the upstream package since more than five years; it is downloaded more than 1500 times per year; I get very positive feedback from fellow scientists wh are using this package for data analysis - now I want to facilitate installation by supporting .deb in addition to .tgz.
