Dear mentors, I am looking for a sponsor for my package "obdgpslogger". I have uploaded this a couple times previously, but not yet received any response. This RFS corresponds to a new package that meets newer packaging & lintian guidelines.
The advice given to me in #debian-mentors was to ping this mailing list again; it has been a couple months since my last request. * Package name : obdgpslogger Version : 0.15-1 Upstream Author : Gary Briggs <chu...@icculus.org> [myself] * URL : http://icculus.org/obdgpslogger/ * License : GPLv2+ Section : science It builds these binary packages: obdgpslogger - Suite of tools to log OBDII and GPS data The package appears to be lintian clean. My motivation for maintaining this package is: This has been my pet project for a while, now. I'm the upstream maintainer, and I'd like to get my package into the debian repositories. There are no packages in debian for users to enjoy OBDII right now, and I feel that my software is among the better tools for the job. In #debian-mentors, it was noted that since this package is usually used with a hardware dongle, it may be harder to find a mentor. This package contains a full software emulator of the dongle, called obdsim. A simple way to execute it is "obdsim -o" which launches the sim, and then attaches logger to it with debug spam turned on. The package can be found on mentors.debian.net: - URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/o/obdgpslogger - Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main contrib non-free - dget http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/o/obdgpslogger/obdgpslogger_0.15-1.dsc I would be glad if someone could become my mentor for this and hopefully future packages.
