Hi!

I'm having some problems using pdebuild recently. I'm pretty sure this command worked before, and I have updated my pbuilder chroot.

I don't have a orig.tar.gz, so I ask it to build a binary package, but I get this:

*******************
$ pdebuild --debuildopts -b
dpkg-buildpackage: source package mpich
dpkg-buildpackage: source version 3.0.3-1
dpkg-buildpackage: source changed by Lucas Nussbaum <lu...@debian.org>
 dpkg-source --before-build mpich
 fakeroot debian/rules clean
dh clean  --parallel --with autoreconf
   dh_testdir -O--parallel
   dh_auto_clean -O--parallel
   dh_autoreconf_clean -O--parallel
   dh_clean -O--parallel
 dpkg-source -b mpich
dpkg-source: error: can't build with source format '3.0 (quilt)': no upstream tarball found at ../mpich_3.0.3.orig.tar.{bz2,gz,lzma,xz}
dpkg-buildpackage: error: dpkg-source -b mpich gave error exit status 255
**************************

Is this not the correct procedure to build binary packages without having an orig.tar.gz? Maybe my memory is fooling me, but I think it worked earlier.

I'm using Sid.

Best regards
Torquil Sørensen
