For some reason, that didn't work and I tried it without the video paramater too. Maybe the arcboot.conf overrode the firmware command later on during boot? However, I rebooted from the original boot-image through bootp, started the install and could revert the arcboot.conf to its original state and now it boots fine. Jozsef
