Backports mirrors to be accessible at /debian-backports/
========================================================

First, you can notice the name has changed because of the official
status, from backports.org to debian-backports :
 * please make the backports mirror available at /debian-backports/ as
   well (for all FTP/HTTP/RSYNC).
 * without breaking the old path :-)

Rsync and push setup for backports mirrors
==========================================

Note any previous push setup from www.backports.org is deprecated and will not
be moved automatically, you can sync from a mirror listed at
http://backports.debian.org/Mirrors/

Please check whether your "standard archive" upstream provides backports, if so
please ask them for a push, and tell us your new backports upstream at
[email protected] or http://www.debian.org/mirror/submit

Offical mirrors can ask us for a push trigger.

Upcoming Squeeze release and periodic reminders
===============================================

Debian mirrors *should* :
- use the recommended tool ftpsync: http://debian.org/mirror/ftpmirror#how for
  all mirrors (debian, debian-backports, debian-volatile, etc.)
- avoid drop/close architectures or access protocol (moreover without
  prior notification, notice arch addition[0] and size requirements [1])
- configure standard path like /debian/ /debian-volatile/ /debian-cd/ and avoid
  custom path
- read the errors logs mailed by ftpsync
- for ISOs, do not perform manual updates, but *automatic* either pushed
  or pulled (today is 5.0.6 !).

Thanks for mirroring Debian and best regards.
