I think it's safe to upload it to unstable. gigedit 0.1.1 works fine and at that time it seemed too late 'cause of freeze was already in effect. BTW, now, after doing much more testing, I feel comfortable to say yes, the new release is cool and, more important, stable enough to join Squeeze.
