No disagreement here. But the ASM optimization was disabled on powerpc,
ppc64
and ppc64el because the testsuite is failing otherwise as the code is
broken.

If someone at IBM could take a look at the code and fix the problems,
that would
be greatly appreciated. And if you could make sure that it works on
older baselines
as well, that would be awesome.
Yes, definitely. I’ll take a look at the code and discuss it with the
right team to work on fixing the issues. We’ll also ensure it’s
