Package: cmus Version: 2.12.0-2+b1 Severity: wishlist Tags: upstream Hi.
For a couple of years some supporting terminal emulators allow setting the TERM environment variable to a value that indicates true color capability. In the case of xterm this is "xterm-direct", I'm at least aware that Konsole has a corresponding option with "konsole-direct", there may be a few others. As of this writing, cmus does not recognize these, the result being a fallback to what appears to be 16 colors. While I don't think true color makes a difference for cmus as such, I prefer to have it set for the benefit of some other applications. Thus for the time being running cmus requires the use of a wrapper, alias, function, or command line override. There's a lot of other TUI software around that hasn't been updated, though it's more of a nuisance for cmus considering it's colored theming. Regards, Oliver
