Package: libavif16 Version: 1.2.1-1.2 Severity: important Tags: security X-Debbugs-Cc: Debian Security Team <[email protected]>
Dear Maintainer, libavif16 is an important component but pulls in a package that has limited security support according to the check-support-status tool. Because libavif16 depends on it, it is not practically possible to remove librav1e0.7 from my machine without removing important applications that have no suitable alternative. I would expect to be able to have a working Debian system that I can use for daily work that does not require me to install packaged with limited security support. It would be nice if libavif16 could remove this dependeny, or make it optional, or provide an alternative package without this dependeny. So far this is the only package with that problem that affects me.
