Applicant writes: I come from Taiwan R.O.C and born in 1979. I got Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science at National Chiao-Tung University in 2000 and Master's degree in Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Chiao-Tung University in 2002. I start using GNU/Linux with Slackware distribution, about 4 years. After that I use RedHat with 2 years. Due to a political issue happened on RedHat, in 2000 I found Debian is more suitable for me to use, so I moved to Debian. Currently, I'm using Debian to develop softwares. Also I'm using Debian to do all my daily jobs and entertainments. I'm only using Debian main, so I'm packaging and developing some free replacements for non-free softwares. I'm also packaging some games for habits. I become a volunteer of free software because I sometimes cannot find a suitable software to use, thus I have to write it myself or pack it. Currently I'm maintaining some packages in Debian. The package lists is http://qa.debian.org/[email protected] I'm working together with the Debian Icecast team to help packaging and promoting the free multimedia codec theora/vorbis. Recently I'm helping some RC bugs about the libgnome1 transition. (#460768, #460794, #405895) Other interesting bug reports made by me: #373687, #387027 I'm also the current non-free tracking system maintainer. http://nonfree.alioth.debian.org/ Since I'm only using Debian main, my interest is to develope more non-free replacements (according the non-free tracking system). And my goal is to make Debian main as powerful as Debian main+contrib+non-free :). 2. Account Data - --------------- Account: paulliu Forward-Email: [email protected] 3. Philosophy and Procedures - ----------------------------- Ying-Chun Liu has a good understanding of Debian's philosophy and procedures and answered all my questions about the social contract, DFSG, BTS, etc. in a good way. Ying-Chun Liu committed to uphold the SC and DFSG in his Debian work and accepts the DMUP. 4. Tasks and Skills - ------------------- Ying-Chun Liu has a good understanding of the technical side of Debian. He is maintainer of 11 packages and co-maintains 5 packages (sponsored by tgg, codehelp and others). All packages are in good shape. Ying-Chun Liu also answered my other questions regarding T&S without problems and went trough a mainly task-based T&S part (including QA uploads and RC bug fixes) without problems. 5. Recommendation - ----------------- I recommend to accept Ying-Chun Liu as a Debian Developer. - -- Bernd Zeimetz Debian GNU/Linux Developer GPG Fingerprint: 06C8 C9A2 EAAD E37E 5B2C BE93 067A AD04 C93B FF79 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iEYEARECAAYFAklr0TwACgkQBnqtBMk7/3kPrQCeNGqqrmQ7AVI7zh8CANmp3XJk mTkAnj/2uXOyQEZcR+9B2gczuIQYRMrW =FaOD -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
