I support his application to become a Debian maintainer, because I've seen his software and packages work on my systems for some years now, as well as some of the big work in getting Globus etc softwares into a usable state for distribution use.
His current and future planned work in getting grid software packaged is both ambitious and successful, I think becoming a Debian Maintainer would enable him to keep concentrating on the real work, creating good packaging for a large and difficult - but for the Grid essential - set of software.
