I have worked with Benjamin Somers on DebConf25 organization (well, to be honest, I haven’t done much work myself, but I’ve witnessed an insane amount of very good work from Benjamin!) for almost two years and I consider them as having sufficient technical competence. All interactions with Benjamin (IRL and online) have always been more than pleasant, and he’s very rigorous in his work. I know Benjamin Somers can be trusted to be a full member of Debian, right now. His addition will make Debian better! I’ve also noticed (on #debian-mentors and IRL) that Benjamin is also doing some packaging work. I haven’t worked with him on that regard, and thus cannot comment on this part of his work, but hopefully, someone who worked with him on packaging stuff could comment (and so we could let Benjamin do the full uploading DD process!
