OOo 1.1 installed, 1.0.3 Opens?

I am using debian and have OpenOffice 1.0.3 installed on my system.  I used 
apt-get to install the 1.1 version and I see that it added a new menu 
category to my Kde menues.  Trouble is, when I pick a program, say Writer, 
from that category, 1.0.3 still opens.

Probably some simple thing I ought to know, but there are lots of things 
like that . . .  Any hints?
