I'm seeing the same behavior: "Impossible to disable the Task Pane in OOo 2.0"
After disabling it by unchecking "View:Task Pane" any cursor selection within the slide area pops it back up again. This happens regardless of whether the pane is "Docked" or "Undocked" and what view the user is in (i.e.: Normal, Outline, Notes, etc.).
