If there is a column with dates and you trying to apply a Standard Filter to
it, e.g. «Field name» = «date», «Condition» = «>=», «Value» = «11.02.2011» it
filters out the whole table because it thinks there are no coincidences with
the «11.02.2011» value. It seeks for the «40585» value (although all the dates
fields have a «Date» format) and when it's being set in Standard Filter,
filtering works fine.
I have noticed, that this issue doesn't complain where dates are set in the
«Default - English (USA)» format. e. g. «12/31/99». Solution is to set «Default
- English (USA)» in the «Language» section and apply «DD.MM.YYYY» mask or
whatever you need. Not the rather obvious way, because the user at first tries
to change the «Language». And I think it's necessary to say, that actual stable
version of OpenOffice from the Debian Repository isn't have this issue (I have
just migrated).
