Topic: Writer *Converting “example.odt” to “example.pdf” containing Unicode icons and highlighted words* The “example.odt” file contains_Unicode icons_—the kind you can see in the terminal and include in commands managed by “aliases.” The “example.odt” file also contains a few _words highlighted_ in different colors. _The PDF contains neither icons nor highlighted text._ There are many included fonts, and none of them seem to support these icons. Questions: Is this intentional on the part of the developers? Is this outside the scope of typical Writer usage? Does the use of Unicode terminal-compatible icons conflict with Writer’s internal functionality? Can an add-on or plugin resolve this issue? I’m surprised that a text file supports so many features, yet the LibreOffice suite doesn’t tolerate such a minor deviation from standard usage. Is there a specific way to do this that would give me the result I want: a PDF that contains the icons and the highlighted words?
There whave been many PDF export improvements in later versions. Try them. Debian 12 is out of (security) support, end of lifeand July 11 will be the last point release of it. Don't use obsolete versions software? :) (When you insist on using Debian 12, use backports, which has 25.2. Or use Debian 13. Or use Debian 13 with backports wihich gives you 26.2)
